Qingwen Zhang graduated from Zhejiang University with a bachelor's degree in International Politics (2011) and a master’s degree in International Business Law from National University of Singapore (2016). After working as an editor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press for one year, she became a doctoral student in Shanghai Jiao Tong University (2017). Her research topics are: Tokyo Trial, Nanjing Massacre, war crimes, etc. She will study in The Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem as a Visiting Research Fellow, under Prof. Manuela Consonni’s supervision

Her dissertation topic is History and Its Denial: The Holocaust and the Nanjing Massacre -- A Study on Antisemitism and War Crimes. Her starting point is the Nanjing Massacre in China, its memory and its denial. Assuming the Holocaust as a paradigm of memory construction, the policy of denial of it as well, this dissertation will reconstruct the memory of Nanjing Massacre, its growing denial and its impact on a personal and collective level in China and in the context of Sino-Japanese relations.
