Mr. Leon Thiel

Leon Thiel is an academic assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture - Simon Dubnow. He is studying for a Masters degree in Cultural Studies at Leipzig University and is currently a student at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on an ERASMUS+ Study Scholarship. He received his BA in Cultural Studies from Leipzig University. His thesis was titled „’Auslandsverzug, Nachlass, Pfandverwertung’ - The Auction of Jewish Property in Leipzig from the Perspective of Material Cultural Research“ and dealt with the plunder and auction of Jewish property in Leipzig between 1938-1945.
His research interestes include Cultural history, German-Jewish history, Holocaust Studies and Material Culture Studies.
