Political Radicalization and Antisemitism

Invited participants represent  various disciplines: history, the social sciences, art history, literature, and the sciences.  The workshop, inaugurated in 1997 and continuing this academic year, aims to trace the development of the process of radicalization in different countries and to track the reciprocal influence of this phenomenon and the “Jewish Question” in its various expressions. The following main topics will be raised:

• The formation of the radical social and political movements, and the expressions of antisemitism in their political platforms, as well as their policies if and when they came to power.
  
  
• Modernism in the broader cultural sense—art, literature, theater, and intellectual history—in relation to the “Jewish Question” and to the stereotype of the Jew.
