Jews and Antisemitism in the Balkans

The Center is an active partner in this conference, organized by Dr. Irena Šumi and Dr. Otto Luthar. The conference focuses on comparative analysis of contemporary attitudes towards Jewry and antisemitism in Balkan countries.

Center’s Prof. Dalia Ofer and Dr. Leon Volovici will give lectures. The title of Prof. Ofer’s lecture is “Antisemitism and Holocaust in Israeli Historiography”; Dr. Volovici will discuss “New Trends in Dealing with Ethnic Prejudice and the Image of a Mythical Jew in Post-Communist Public Discourse”.
